Local Stalwarts Score in Simultaneous Exhibition

On October 15, eighteen local players sat across the board from Jonathan Sarfati, international master and Chess Olympiad veteran who once held world champion Boris Spassky to a draw.  Sarfati, who has given many simultaneous exhibitions including twelve games blindfolded, generously gave his time at Schlow Library while in the area on a lecture tour.  Of the 18 games, three resulted in victory for the home team and two others were drawn.  Jason Scott, Spencer Carran and Jack Kintigh all won their games. Sarfati agreed to split the point with Sandy Breon and Dan Waite.
